The seminar will focus on the dynamics of financing development, its innovation components, and development effectiveness. The role of multilateral banks in emerging and developing economies, the specific projects and what they achieve in terms of delivering sustainable development and policy reforms in critical areas such as infrastructure, urban development, governance, education, skills and employment, and clean energy, will be discussed. The seminar will include the challenges of financing development and governance approaches from countries at different stage of development (low-income and middle income countries). In particular, it will explain the actions and partnerships approaches for poverty eradication through skills and employment development. The seminar will include group work with case studies material from real projects in Asia and the Pacific, individual consultations, and group discussions of films from projects.
The seminar will include related work of ENS on the geopolitics of financing development, and current research conducted by the Western Sydney University in Asia and the Pacific region bringing together a selected group of experts and new researchers in the subject.
